Maxima has gone through a few design overhauls over the past few months, as well as a few changes to its infrastructure. It has switched from Microsofts IIS to Apache web server a while back. Now has a database unlike the previous site which was just a static template with some information. Now the site is becoming more functional, easier to use, and updated with the ever-changing web standards. Last night we made a post about scheduled maintenance. I am happy to report it was a success, and that everything is functioning as it should. Email is working normally, and the site has be given some big improvements. We changed hosts to a newer, quicker, Boston based company that runs their server network off wind power. On top of that, we have successfully implemented CloudFlare. CloudFlare is a CDN that makes multiple copies of the site and hosts its around the country, and around the world. What this means to you is MaximaConsulting.com will load faster from where ever you are, and be more secure with the extra security benefits CF has to offer.
As the internet evolves, things become more automated and quicker. With the new Job Listings app built into MaximaConsulting.com, people from around the world can view openings in our company and apply from within the app! This new addition to the site is still having the final kinks worked out. It is designed to automatically update Twittter & Facebook as new jobs are posted, with more social integration coming soon! On Friday October 30th 2011, Maximas email servers stopped responding which limited emails from being sent or received for most of the day. The error was due to a change in the server settings which was designed to have the emails hosted on a word wide content distribution network (CDN). The error which lasted most of the day has been resolved and everything is running smoothly and as it should. For anyone who sent an email to any address @maximaconsulting.com during the 30th and received an error message stating the message wasn’t received, please send it again. Hey ladies and gents, as some of you may have noticed, Maxima’s main website has changed design among other web elements taking on a new approach to what internet 2.0 means to us! I would fist like to say we are aware of the web site issues such as the home page not loading correctly due to a server issue and some content on the site not being updated/filled out all the way. This is temporary and should be resolved soon (hopefully 24hours or less). Thanks for your patients with us as we make our transformation from our old environment to our new hosting environment.
